Rangers RHP Padilla leaves game with injury
Jul 5, 2008 - 12:02 AM BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Texas Rangers starting pitcher Vicente Padilla left Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles in the third inning with a bruised right thumb.Freddy Bynum's hard single struck Padilla in the hand and rolled into center field, plating two runs.
The righthander was taken for X-rays, which were negative. The status for his next start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Wednesday is unknown.
Padilla, 30, entered Friday with a 10-4 record and 4.70 ERA in 18 starts this season.
