PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday recalled infielder Emilio Bonafacio and outfielder Alex Romero from Class AAA Tucson of the Pacific Coast League.
To make room on the roster, the Diamondbacks optioned pitcher Connor Robertson to Tucson and designated outfielder Jeff Salazar for assignment.
Bonafacio, 23, has yet to play in a major league game this season, but did drive in two runs over 11 games in 2007 with Arizona. The 24-year-old Romero batted .229 with three RBI in 29 contests this season.
Robertson made just two appearances with the Diamondbacks this season. The 26-year-old righthander gave up one run and two hits over four innings. Salazar, 27, is batting .202 with two home runs and 10 RBI on the year.
