Mets recall C Cancel

Jul 12, 2008 - 1:22 AM FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Mets on Friday recalled catcher Robinson Cancel from Class AAA New Orleans of the Pacific Coast League.

Cancel, 32, was 1-for-4 with two RBI in four games with New York after being recalled on June 14. The journeyman was hitting .378 with seven home runs and 26 RBI in 12 games with the Zephyrs.

In a corresponding move, the Mets optioned outfielder Chris Aguila to New Orleans. Aguila hit .167 (2-for-12) in eight games with New York.
