Cardinals CF Ankiel leaves game with injury
Jul 13, 2008 - 2:00 AM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Rick Ankiel left Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the seventh inning with a left ankle injury.Ankiel, who was replaced by Skip Schumaker, suffered the injury while falling in the batter's box after hitting a grounder to shortstop that ended the top of the seventh.
The 28-year-old is batting .271 with 20 home runs and 50 RBI in 82 games this season.
