Reds place Burton on DL
Jul 19, 2008 - 5:39 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds on Saturday placed reliever Jared Burton on the 15-day disabled list with a back strain.Burton, whose DL stint is retroactive to July 11, is 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA in 43 appearances this season.
In a corresponding move, the team recalled relief pitcher Todd Coffey from Class AAA Louisville. The righthander struggled with the Reds earlier this season, posting a 6.46 ERA in 14 relief appearances.
