Report: Yankees acquire Ivan Rodriguez

Jul 30, 2008 - 8:31 PM BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Ivan Rodriguez apparently is headed to the Bronx.

The New York Yankees acquired Rodriguez, a 14-time All-Star catcher, from the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday afternoon, according to ESPN.

Rodriguez would replace injured Yankees catcher Jorge Posada, who underwent season-ending shoulder surgery Wednesday.
