LF Braun named Player of Month
Aug 4, 2008 - 8:06 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Milwaukee Brewers All-Star left fielder Ryan Braun, who led all National League outfielders in All-Star voting, on Monday was named Player of the Month for July.Braun batted .366 in July with nine home runs and 23 RBI. He homered in three straight games from July 26-28 and had consecutive four-hit games on July 23-24, becoming the fifth Milwaukee player to accomplish that feat.
On July 15, the 24-year-old started his first All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium.
Also considered for the award were New York's Carlos Delgado, Cincinnati's Adam Dunn, Colorado's Matt Holliday, Philadelphia's Ryan Howard and St. Louis' Albert Pujols.
