Cardinals OF Duncan undergoes surgery

LOUIS (Ticker) -- St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Chris Duncan underwent surgery Monday to correct a herniated disk in his neck and is facing an estimated recovery time of three to four months.Duncan, 27, who is expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday, had been sidelined since July 22 with a neck strain.
He had been hot, batting .304 in his previous 15 games before going on the disabled list. He finished the year batting .248 with six home runs and 27 RBI in 76 contests.
This is the second straight year in which Duncan was forced to undergo season-ending surgery. Last season, he had surgery in early August to repair a herniated disk in his back.
