Braun out of Brewers lineup
Aug 20, 2008 - 5:35 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Milwaukee Brewers All-Star Ryan Braun will miss Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros due to tightness in his rib cage and lower back.Braun, 24, originally suffered the injury 11 days ago while swinging the bat during a game against the Washington Nationals. The slugging left fielder missed six contests before returning to the Brewers for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Last season's National League Rookie of the Year, Braun had three hits in 10 at-bats after returning to the lineup. But he aggravated the injury in Monday's game and did not play in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.
Braun is batting .300 with 31 homers and 86 RBI - all team highs - in 117 games this season. He will be replaced by Gabe Kapler in Wednesday's matinee contest.
