Reds place Hairston on DL
Aug 20, 2008 - 6:23 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Reds infielder-outfielder Jerry Hairston Jr. was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained right hamstring.Hairston, 32, has battled the injury since the All-Star break. The 11-year veteran is enjoying an outstanding season, batting .338 with two home runs, 22 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
To fill Hairston's roster spot, the Reds recalled infielder Adam Rosales from Class AAA Louisville.
