0 shoutsMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Houston Astros on Wednesday claimed infielder Jose Castillo off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.
Designated for assignment by the Giants on August 13, Castillo will report to the Astros on Friday.
Castillo, 27, batted .244 with six homers and 35 RBI in 112 games for the Giants this season.
In 577 career games, Castillo is a .253 hitter with 39 homers and 216 RBI.
