Cardinals place OF Barton on DL

LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday placed outfielder Brian Barton on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.Barton, who was removed from Sunday's 6-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in the sixth inning, suffered the injury while legging out a bunt for a single.
In 69 games this season, Barton is hitting .269 with two home runs and 13 RBI.
In a corresponding move, the Cardinals recalled outfielder Nick Stavinoha from Class AAA Memphis. He is 5-for-25 (.200) with four RBI in two previous stints with St. Louis, while hitting .337 with 16 homers and 74 RBI in 112 games with Memphis.
