Tigers option RHP Lambert, recall IF Larish
Aug 27, 2008 - 10:29 PM DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Tigers optioned pitcher Chris Lambert to Class AAA Toledo on Wednesday, one day after the righthander made his major league debut.Lambert, a first-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004, lasted just 2 2/3 innings on Tuesday, giving up six runs and five hits in a 10-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians.
In a corresponding move, the Tigers recalled infielder Jeff Larish from Toledo.
Larish was hitting .250 with 21 home runs and 64 RBI in 103 games with Toledo this season. He hit .245 with two homers and 10 RBI in 19 games with Detroit earlier this year.
