Rangers CF Hamilton scratched from lineup

Aug 28, 2008 - 1:14 AM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton was a late scratch from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals.

The lefthander slugger was pulled from the lineup because of an abscessed tooth. He was replaced by Brandon Boggs, who started in left field as Marlon Byrd moved from left to center.

Hamilton is hitting .298 with 29 home runs and a major league-leading 116 RBI this season.
