Angels manager Scioscia ejected

Aug 28, 2008 - 5:14 AM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim manager Mike Scioscia was ejected for arguing with an umpire during the seventh inning of Wednesday's game against the Oakland Athletics.

After reliever Darren Oliver issued a 10-pitch walk to Frank Thomas to lead off the inning, Scioscia approached the mound to remove the lefthander for Jose Arredondo. The manager turned to home plate umpire Paul Schrieber and questioned the balls-and-strikes calls.

Scioscia, who was also upset with Schrieber's strike zone because of a call that went against the Angels during the second inning, began expressing his displeasure before Schrieber ejected him.
