Diamondbacks manager Melvin ejected

Aug 30, 2008 - 3:51 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin was ejected from Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers by first base umpire Wally Bell in the fifth inning for arguing.

Melvin was upset that Conor Jackson was called out due to fan interference to end the fifth.

Jackson hit a foul pop down the first base line. As Dodgers first baseman James Loney approached the wall and went into a slide, a fan reached over and made the catch.
