Orioles exercise contract option on Trembley

Sep 5, 2008 - 5:16 PM BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Orioles on Friday exercised their 2009 contract option on manager Dave Trembley.

In his first full season as Baltimore's manager, Trembley has guided the Orioles to a 63-76 record, good for last place in the American League East. The club has not finished last since 1988, when they lost their first 21 games en route to a 54-107 campaign.

Trembley, 56, was the Orioles' interim manager until having that tag removed on August 22, 2007. He is 103-129 overall as the Baltimore skipper.
