Jeter ties Gehrig for all-time hits at Yankee Stadium
Sep 14, 2008 - 7:02 PM BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- With his solo homer in the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter recorded his 1,269th career hit at Yankee Stadium, tying Lou Gehrig's franchise record.Jeter also is second behind Gehrig, who stroked 2, 721 hits in his career, on the team's overall list after passing Babe Ruth last Sunday.
New York is in the midst of its final homestand at Yankee Stadium before moving across the street to a new park next season.
