Marlins SS Ramirez leaves game

Sep 18, 2008 - 3:31 AM MIAMI (Ticker) -- Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez left Wednesday's 14-2 victory over the Houston Astros in the top of the fifth inning with a sore left shoulder.

Ramirez homered in each of his previous two at-bats before striking out in the bottom of the fourth. He said the injury occurred when he dived for a grounder in the third inning.

The 24-year-old, who is batting .296 with 32 home runs this season, is listed as day-to-day.

"Hopefully I don't miss a game," Ramirez said. "I'm going to be day-to-day and see how it feels when I come to the ballpark."
