Giants LHP Lowry to undergo elbow surgery
Sep 27, 2008 - 3:40 AM SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- The San Francisco Giants on Friday announced lefthander Noah Lowry will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow Tuesday.Lowry, 27, has missed all of 2008 after having surgery on March 7 to correct compartment syndrome in his left forearm. He was close to returning to the mound in the Arizona instructional league but began to feel discomfort in his elbow.
An MRI taken earlier this week revealed the elbow injury, and surgery was recommended.
Lowry, who led the Giants with 14 wins in 2007, is expected to be ready for spring training.
