Marlins SS Ramirez not in lineup vs. Mets

Sep 28, 2008 - 6:01 PM FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez has a stiff left shoulder and was held out of the lineup for Sunday's crucial game against the New York Mets.

An All-Star and the National League's leader with 125 runs scored, Ramirez tweaked his shoulder during Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Mets.

Ramirez is batting .301 with 33 homers, 67 RBI and 35 stolen bases this season. His absence is good news for the Mets, who entered the final day of the regular season tied with the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL wild card.
