Victorino follows big game with bad news
Oct 11, 2008 - 1:02 AM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino learned after Friday's 8-5 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Two of the National League Championship Series that his grandmother had died.Victorino, who drove in four runs and made a leaping catch in the outfield, did not meet with the media after the game.
It was the second piece of bad news on Friday for the Phillies, who learned earlier in the day that manager Charlie Manuel's mother had passed away. Manuel also declined to speak after the contest.
The Phillies own a two-games-to-none advantage in the best-of-seven series.
