Blue Jays exercise option on C Barajas
Oct 31, 2008 - 5:29 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Blue Jays have exercised their one-year contract option on catcher Rod Barajas, the team announced Friday.Barajas, 33, will make $2.5 million next season.
A 10-year veteran, Barajas appeared in 104 games last season with the Blue Jays, batting .249 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI.
Barajas is a career .241 hitter with 73 homers in 688 games with the Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
