Cardinals re-sign C LaRue for one year
Oct 31, 2008 - 9:04 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Cardinals re-signed catcher Jason LaRue to a one-year contract on Friday.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A 10-year veteran, LaRue served as Yadier Molina's backup last season, hitting .213 with four homers and 21 RBI in 61 games.
"Jason was a great fit for our ballclub in the role that he served this past season," general manager John Mozeliak said. "His contributions carried not only onto the field, but also in the clubhouse and away from the ballpark, where he provided a good veteran leadership."
