Pettitte files for free agency
Nov 9, 2008 - 8:26 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Andy Pettitte of the New York Yankees was the lone player to file for free agency Sunday.Pettitte went 14-14 with a 4.54 ERA in 33 starts this past season for the Yankees, who missed the playoffs for the first time since 1993.
There has been reports that the Yankees are interested in bringing back the 36-year-old Pettitte at a cheaper price than his $16 million salary from last season.
Pettitte was an integral part of four World Series-winning teams with the Yankees in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000.
