Royals offer 2B Grudzielanek arbitration
Dec 2, 2008 - 12:42 AM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The Kansas City Royals on Monday offered arbitration to free agent second baseman Mark Grudzielanek.He has until 11 p.m. EST on Sunday to accept the offer.
Should Grudzielanek reject arbitration and sign with another team this winter, the Royals would receive a supplemental first-round draft pick as compensation.
Grudzielanek, 38, is a career .290 hitter over 14 seasons with five teams. He has spent the past three seasons in Kansas City but played in only 86 games in 2008 due to a severely sprained ankle.
