Diamondbacks sign IF Ojeda
Dec 11, 2008 - 3:53 AM LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks signed infielder Augie Ojeda to a one-year deal on Wednesday.Ojeda served as a utility infielder for the Diamondbacks last season, playing in 105 games while logging time at second base, third base and shortstop. He hit .242 while scoring 27 runs.
The 33-year-old Ojeda has played in parts of seven seasons with Arizona, the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago Cubs, batting .235 with 91 runs and 24 doubles.
With Orlando Hudson expected to leave town this winter via free agency, Ojeda provides an option at second base for the 2009 season.
