Padres non-tender RHPs Hensley, Haeger
Dec 13, 2008 - 12:46 AM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- The San Diego Padres on Friday non-tendered righthanders Clay Hensley and Charlie Haeger.The 29-year-old Hensley, who opened the 2008 campaign on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain, went 1-2 with a 5.31 ERA in 32 games - one start - upon his return on June 6.
Over parts of four seasons with the Padres, Hensley is 15-18 with a 4.09 ERA and 206 strikeouts in 106 games - 40 starts.
Haeger, 25, was claimed off waivers from the Chicago White Sox on September 10 and made four relief appearances, allowing eight runs in 4 1/3 innings. The knuckleballer is 1-2 with a 6.35 ERA in 19 games - one start - over parts of three seasons with the White Sox and Padres.
