Diamondbacks non-tender four

Dec 13, 2008 - 4:28 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday did not tender contracts for 2009 to second baseman Chris Burke, lefthander Wil Ledezma, catcher Robby Hammock and outfielder Jeff Salazar.

All four players now become free agents.

Burke, 28, hit .194 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 86 games during his lone season in Arizona after coming over from the Houston Astros last winter as part of the trade for Jose Valverde.

The 27-year-old Ledezma made only three appearances for the Diamondbacks after being claimed off waivers from the San Diego Padres. Overall, he went 0-2 with a 4.17 ERA in 25 games - six starts - in 2008.

Hammock, 31, appeared in just 18 contests last season, batting .190 (8-for-42) with two RBI. He has played in 180 games over parts of five seasons.

The 28-year-old Salazar played in 90 games last season, hitting .211 with two homers and 12 RBI.
