Phillies sign RHP Park
Dec 15, 2008 - 5:04 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Phillies reportedly added another arm to their pitching staff Monday, signing righthander Chan Ho Park.According to a report on the Philadelphia Inquirer's web site, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. confirmed the deal, which will become official once Park passes a physical.
The Korea Times reported it is a one-year deal worth a guaranteed $2.5 million, with performance-based bonuses that could boost it up to $5 million.
Park, 35, spent last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and appeared in 54 games with five starts. He posted a 4-4 record with two saves and a 3.40 ERA in 95 1/3 innings.
Over 15 seasons, Park has a career 117-92 record and 4.34 ERA in 378 games, including 280 starts, with the Dodgers, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres and New York Mets.
