Royals agree with LHP Bale
Dec 16, 2008 - 6:01 PM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The Kansas City Royals on Tuesday agreed with lefthander John Bale on a one-year contract.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bale, 34, was 0-3 with a 4.39 ERA in 13 appearances most out of the bullpen last season. He became free agent on Friday when the team did not tender him an offer.
A six-year veteran, Bale retired 21 consecutive batters before issuing a walk in his final appearance. Bale is 3-6 with a 4.46 ERA in 66 games with Toronto, Baltimore Cincinnati and the Royals.
