Yankees to charge 1923 prices for two exhibitions
Dec 23, 2008 - 8:02 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Bleacher seats for the first two exhibition games at the new Yankee Stadium will be offered at 1923 ticket prices, the team announced Tuesday. When the Yankees host the Chicago Cubs on April 3-4, bleacher tickets will cost only 25 cents - the price when the old Yankee Stadium opened on April 18, 1923.
Grandstand tickets for the two exhibition contests will be sold at $1.10 - also the same amount for the opener 85 years ago.
However, ticket prices in other sections of the new stadium will bear no resemblance to the 1920s, as they will be sold from $20 to $50.
The first regular-season game in the new stadium is set for April 16 against the Cleveland Indians.
