Cardinals agree with LHP Ring
Jan 5, 2009 - 9:55 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) - The St. Louis Cardinals have added another lefthanded option to their bullpen mixThe Cardinals on Monday agreed to terms with lefthander Royce Ring on a one-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 6-foot, 220-pound Ring joins a Cardinals bullpen that includes lefthanders Charlie Manning and Trever Miller, both of whom were also acquired this offseason.
Ring, 28, spent most of last season with the Atlanta Braves where he went 2-1 with an 8.46 ERA in 42 games.
Over his career, Ring is 3-3 with a 4.93 ERA in 94 games with the New York Mets, San Diego and the Braves.
