Reds re-sign Hairston
Jan 7, 2009 - 8:50 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday re-signed Jerry Hairston Jr. to a one-year contract.Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Hairston played six positions in 80 games with the Reds last season. He played all three outfield positions and saw the majority of his time in the infield at second base and shortstop.
The 11-year veteran batted .326 with six home runs and 36 RBI but was plagued by a strained right hamstring for much of the second half of the season.
