Padres agree to terms with OF Hairston
Jan 9, 2009 - 12:23 AM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- The San Diego Padres on Thursday agreed to terms with outfielder Scott Hairston on a one-year contract.The 28-year-old hit .248 with 17 home runs and 31 RBI with the Padres in 2008 while appearing in a career-high 112 games split between left and center field.
A former top prospect with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Hairston owns a career .246 batting average with 41 homers and 98 RBI in parts of five seasons with Arizona and San Diego.
