Brewers sign SS Hardy to one-year deal
Jan 13, 2009 - 12:00 AM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers avoided arbitration with J.J. Hardy on Monday, signing the shortstop to a one-year contract.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 26-year-old Hardy hit .283 with 24 home runs and 74 RBI in 146 games last season, his fourth with the team.
Righthanders Dave Bush and Seth McClung, first baseman Prince Fielder, second baseman Rickie Weeks and outfielder Corey Hart all remain eligible for arbitration.
