Brewers sign RHP McClung to one-year deal
Jan 20, 2009 - 4:11 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday signed righthander Seth McClung to a one-year contract, avoiding an arbitration hearing.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Used as a starter and out of the bullpen, McClung, 27, recorded a 6-6 record with a 4.02 ERA in 37 appearances for the Brewers last season, his second in Milwaukee.
Over four seasons with Tampa Bay and Milwaukee, McClung has a career mark of 23-31 with a 5.55 ERA.
The signing leaves the Brewers with three arbitration-eligible players: first baseman Prince Fielder, outfielder Corey Hart and second baseman Rickie Weeks.
