Astros OF Amercrombie fractures left big toe

Mar 7, 2009 - 6:49 PM KISSIMMEE, Florida (Ticker) -- Houston Astros outfielder Reggie Abercrombie suffered a small fracture to his left big toe in Friday's exhibition game against the Atlanta Braves.

An X-ray taken Saturday confirmed the injury, which occurred when Abercrombie fouled a ball off his foot during his final at-bat Friday.

The Astros have established no timetable for his return but expect that he will be sidelined for at least two weeks.

Abercrombie has played in all eight games this spring and is batting a club-high .563 (9-of-16) with three RBI.
