Pirates activate SS Jack Wilson from DL
May 12, 2009 - 10:39 PM PITTSBURGH(AP) -- Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson was activated off the 15-day disabled list and in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against St. Louis.Wilson had been out since April 25 with a sprained left middle finger. Before he was hurt, Wilson was hitting .255 with no homers and seven RBIs in 14 games.
Pittsburgh optioned shortstop Brian Bixler to Triple-A Indianapolis, where he began the season. With the Pirates, Bixler hit .200 with 18 strikeouts in 25 at-bats - either striking out or getting a hit in all but two at-bats.
