LHP Eric Bedard, who has been on the disabled list since July 10, underwent shoulder surgery on Friday, and no tears were found in either the labrum or rotator cuff. Recovery is expected to take about six months. ? 3B Miguel Cairo holds the current major league streak of at-bats without a home run at 774. ? LF Raul Ibanez, who lead the team with 108 RBI and has hit 23 homers and 43 doubles, was named the club's Most Valuable Player by the local chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. ?
