Hawks F Smith fined for obscene gesture
Jan 22, 2007 - 11:51 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) - On Saturday, Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith lost his cool. On Monday, he lost some money.The NBA on Monday fined Smith $25,000 for his actions in Atlanta's 104-85 road loss to the Charlotte Bobcats.
Smith was called for an offensive foul with 4:15 left in the second quarter and picked up a technical foul for arguing the call. He continued to argue and was hit with a second technical and ejected from the game.
On his way to the locker room, Smith was about halfway down the tunnel when he raised both hands and made an obscene gesture to the crowd.
