NBA suspends Pistons F Wallace one game

Mar 10, 2007 - 10:33 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace on Saturday was suspended one game without pay by the NBA for exceeding the league's technical-foul rule.

The volatile Wallace was whistled for a technical foul Friday in the second quarter of a 95-92 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

It was the 16th technical foul issued this season to Wallace, who will serve his suspension Sunday when the Pistons visit the Los Angeles Clippers.

Wallace, who has shown a notorious propensity to rack up technical fouls over his career, prompted the NBA's new rule stating that any player or coach will receive a one-game suspension after receiving his 16th technical foul.

The 6-11 Wallace is averaging 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in 55 games this season.
