Hawks' Smith has strained tendon
May 2, 2012 - 7:18 PM Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks announced Wednesday that forward Josh Smith suffered a strained tendon in his left knee and is listed as day-to-day with the ailment.Smith suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's loss to the Boston Celtics while battling for position under the basket. He immediately went to the locker room and did not return.
The defeat evened the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at a game apiece and Game 3 is slated for Friday in Boston.
Smith averaged 18.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists a game this season, while posting 19.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game over the first two postseason contests against Boston.
