Hawks' Smith out for Game 3
May 4, 2012 - 11:07 PM Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith will miss Friday's Game 3 of his team's Eastern Conference quarterfinal matchup against the Boston Celtics with a sore left knee.Smith suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's 87-80 Game 2 loss to the Boston Celtics while battling for position underneath the basket. He immediately went to the locker room and an MRI on Wednesday discovered a strained tendon in his left knee.
The 26-year-old forward posted averages of 19.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game over the first two games of the series, which is knotted at one game apiece.
Game 4 of their best-of-seven series is slated for Sunday in Boston.
