Report: Vaughn agrees two-year deal with Spurs

Jul 3, 2007 - 4:36 PM SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Ticker) -- Jacque Vaughn apparently is content with living in Tony Parker's shadow.

The San Antonio Spurs have reached an agreement on a new two-year deal with the reserve point guard, according to a report in the San Antonio Express-News on Tuesday.

The deal cannot be confirmed until the NBA's free-agent moratorium ends on July 11.

According to the newspaper, the contract is worth $2.5 million, meaning Vaughn will earn the NBA minimum for a player with at least 10 years experience.

The 6-1 Vaughn played in 64 games this past season, averaging 3.0 points, 2.0 assists and 11.9 minutes to help the Spurs win their fourth NBA title in the last nine years.

Vaughn, 32, has played parts of 10 seasons with the Spurs, New Jersey Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz, averaging 4.6 points and 2.5 assists in 672 career games.

The Express-News also reported that Argentinian Fabricio Oberto has agreed to a new three-year deal with the team.
