One and done: Bobcats fire Dunlap
Apr 23, 2013 - 5:50 PM Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - The Charlotte Bobcats have relieved head coach Mike Dunlap of his duties after one season.The Bobcats finished with the second-worst record in the league this past season at 21-61, one game ahead of the Orlando Magic.
"(General manager) Rich Cho and I conducted our season-ending review and met with coach Dunlap to reflect on this season. As an organization, it was decided that we needed to make a change with the head coach position," said Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins said in a statement Tuesday. "We want to thank Mike for his contribution and wish him the best in his future endeavors."
Dunlap replaced Paul Silas after the Bobcats posted the worst winning percentage in league history (.106) with a 7-59 record last season.
