Spurs re-sign G Vaughn, F Bonner
Jul 12, 2007 - 6:52 PM SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Ticker) -- Jacque Vaughn apparently is content with living in Tony Parker's shadow.The San Antonio Spurs re-signed Vaughn, a reserve guard, and forward Matt Bonner on Thursday.
While the team did not disclose terms for either contract, the San Antonio Express-News reported that Vaughn agreed to a two-year deal worth $2.5 million, meaning he will earn the NBA minimum for a player with at least 10 years experience.
The 6-1 Vaughn played in 64 games this past season, averaging 3.0 points, 2.0 assists and 11.9 minutes to help the Spurs win their fourth NBA title in the last nine years.
Vaughn, 32, has played parts of 10 seasons with the Spurs, New Jersey Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz, averaging 4.6 points and 2.5 assists in 672 career games.
The 6-10 Bonner played in 56 games last season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds.
