Warriors' Ezeli undergoes knee surgery

Jun 13, 2013 - 10:35 PM Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli underwent surgery on his right knee Thursday.

Ezeli played through the injury during the postseason but was not particularly productive, averaging 2.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in a little over 11 minutes per contest.

The surgery will reinforce both the medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament in Ezeli's knee. Recovery time is expected to be at least six months, so the 6-foot-11 native of Nigeria will not be ready for the start of next season.

Ezeli appeared in 78 games, with 41 starts, as a rookie this past season and ranked fourth among first-year players in blocks per game (0.95) while putting up 2.4 points and 4.0 rebounds.

The Warriors selected the Vanderbilt product with the 30th overall pick in last year's draft.
