Hornets reportedly re-sign G Pargo

Aug 9, 2007 - 3:26 AM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The New Orleans Hornets have re-signed free agent guard Jannero Pargo to a contract, according to a report on the team's web site on Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 27-year-old Pargo averaged 9.2 points while shooting 38 percent from 3-point range in 82 games last season as the primary backup to Chris Paul.

"Jannero was a big part of our success last season, and he showed that he could be called upon to play a larger role when necessary," Hornets coach Byron Scott said. "I look forward to having him back as a reliable scoring threat off the bench."
