Meeks to join Pistons
Jul 2, 2014 - 3:45 AM Auburn Hills, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Pistons are set to ink guard Jodie Meeks when the free-agent signing period officially begins July 10."Now it's time to move on to the next stage of my career. DDDDDD-etroit!!! BASKETBALL!!!!!," Meeks said via Twitter Tuesday night.
Meeks will reportedly make $19.5 million over three years with the Pistons, which will be his fourth NBA team since being drafted by Milwaukee in the second round in 2009.
Last season, Meeks appeared in 77 games for the Lakers and made 70 starts, averaging 15.7 points per game. He also shot 40 percent from 3-point range.
Meeks was traded from Milwaukee to Philadelphia in February 2010 before signing with the Lakers as a free agent prior to the 2012-13 season. He has career averages of 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds.
